Ratchet string gripper

Ratchet string gripper

  • Diamond coated
  • Make stringing much easier and faster without need to clamp and repull.
  • There is no string pull.
  • No crimp or damage to any string
  • No muscle needed.

Operating Procesure:

1.  While the tension rod is in the upright position, wrap the string clockwise around the drum once and place the string into the string gripper.
NOTE: For proper operation, the string gripper shall be in this position as shown.
2.  Make sure that the string is between the wrapped string and the curb of the drum.
3.  While the left hand pulls the string and holds the string, use the right hand to slowly lower the tension rod clockwise, and to support it all the way down. The string gripper will grip the string while the tension weight pulls the string.
4.  After the string gripper grips the string, the left hand could release the string.
5.  Let the tension rod and tension weight fall by themselves until the tension rod and tension weight is below the horizontal level.
NOTE: For first pull, the tension rod and tension weight shall be below the horizontal level as shown. If the tension rod and tension weight is above the horizontal level, lift and return the tension rod to the upright position and remove the string out of the string gripper. The below horizontal position could be achieved by increasing the string length between the racquet frame and the string gripper while the tension rod is in the upright position.
6.  Use the left hand to hold the string gripper drum and use the right hand to slightly move the tension rod counterclockwise as shown.
7.  Then let the tension rod and the tension weight fall by themselves until the tension rod and the tension weight are parallel to the horizontal surface at about + or - 3 degrees. Repeat this process again to reach the horizontal position. This means that the correct tension is reached.
